Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School Campus

BMIHMS has four campus locations: Leura, Sydney (Kent Street), Adelaide, and Melbourne (Flinders Street). While Leura offers bachelor’s courses, the other three take up masters. Undergraduate students from BMIHMS study at Leura campus and move to Sydney in their third year for their Event and Hospitality Management courses.

  • Sydney campus is in the heart of CBD which connects the city’s main transport from Darling Harbour’s nightlife. Sightseeing comprises penguins, a waterfront bar, dugongs at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, and koalas at Wild Life Sydney Zoo. The facilities on campus are student kitchens, lounge areas, campus-wide WiFi, phone chargers, study spaces, computer room, vending machines and community room.
  • The Leura Campus (in the Blue Mountains) is a two-hour train ride from Sydney which immerses in a world of tourism and travel with its student-run restaurants. The campus provides the facilities of library, vending machines, barbeque & student lounge areas, free Wi-Fi, soccer field, basketball, and tennis courts, swimming pool, and gyms. Admission Process

The Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School was founded in 1991 which is a private educational institute. The Institute is affiliated to Laureate Hospitality Education. BMIHMS International Students Admissions

International applicants can choose when they wish to begin their programs at BMIHMS on the four intakes interval. Applicants are required to complete the BMIHMS application form first. Forms are required to be submitted to [email protected]. Applying students can also fill and sign the form using an address contained in the application.

International applicants must satisfy general admissions criteria, Alternative requirements, and any other relevant course requirements specified by BMIHMS. Below are the Entry requirements for international applicants applying to any undergraduate hospitality courses.

  • Applying students’ age before course date commences must be 17 years and 9 months or older.
  • Applicants must have obtained an international equivalency to the Australian Year 12 Senior Secondary School at the time of applications. Any equivalent can be verified by the Country Education Profiles before submitted.
  • For applicants who haven’t acquired an Australian Year 12 senior school, they must possess an equivalent Australian Year 11 with a minimum of Certificate IV credentials.
  • Only original certified documents of any academic and professional qualifications are required (must be translated in English language)
  • Credentials of international applicants will be verified in the Country Education Profiles produced by Australian Education International.

Applicants who manage not to satisfy the above criteria, the Dean Hospitality or nominee may grant admission based on saved assessment of the applicant’s all-round proficiency to begin the program of study and to achieve the required learning outcomes.

Applicants for diploma who don’t meet the above criteria May Be granted admission based on work experience indicating a prospect of success, or written submission or any partially completed or fully completed study that shows a reasonable prospect of achievement.

Alternative Entry/Eligibility Requirements

Applicants above 21 age during application are entitled to mature age consideration. Undergraduate program and postgraduate program applicants may obtain entry by having at least three years of work experience at a supervisory/management level as deemed relevant by the Head of School, Director of Academic Affairs, or nominee. Also, English language proficiency is required.

Special needs/educationally disadvantaged students

By educational equity program, the School may provide special consideration for course admission to applicants who have suffered educational disadvantages such as physically challenged applicants, applicants from geographically isolated areas/economically disadvantaged; all these types of applicants may apply for special consideration.

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic accomplishment, and relevant work experience plus a personal interview with the Director of Academic Affairs, Head of School, or nominee. (English Language proficiency requirements still apply for these types of applicants).
