Officially opened in September 1995, College Boreal is a Francophone community college for applied arts and technology located primarily in Sudbury, Ontario. It has seven campuses in all four corners of the province. Over 18,000 students graduated from the college over the years. The goal of the college is to serve the French speaking community by producing a bilingual workforce who would be committed to the economic, social and cultural aspects of the province.

College Boreal Application Process

College Boreal accepts applications through the Ontario Colleges Application Service (OCAS). The applicants can select up to five courses of their choice (maximum 3 programs per college) using a single application. Applicants are notified about the admission decision by February 1 via mail to their residential address. Students must accept or decline the offer by May 1.

Basic Admission Requirements: The following requirements must be fulfilled to be eligible for admission:

  • Applicants must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, such as ACE.
  • Applicants who are 19 years or older and do not possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma are enrolled as mature students if they meet the prerequisite requirements.

  • Students will receive scholarships up to 10,000 CAD per year with the help of the Ontario student assistance program. It is a need-based scholarship awarded to students who require financial assistance to pay for their post secondary studies.

Admission Process

College Boreal is a French-language college that offers various certificate, diplomas and graduate certificate programs to students. The programs are both online and full-time programs. Some programs require previous work experience from the applicants. To study at College Boreal, admission requirements include proficiency in French and English.

College Boreal accepts TOEFL/IELTS/TOEIC for English language proficiency. To demonstrate French language proficiency, applicants can submit TEF, TCF, TFI, DALF test scores. College Boreal Admission Deadlines

Applications for all courses are accepted once during the year, for the next academic year. For international applicants there are no deadlines and applications are accepted all year round but the college advises international applicants to start the application process, at least 3 months before the start of the session.

College Boreal International Admissions

College Boreal accepts international applicants every year. Most programs offered at the college start from September and some in January. The medium of instruction is French and English.

Admission Process:

  • Read the admission requirements for the program of choice.

College Boreal Advanced Diplomas Admissions

College Boreal offers advanced diplomas in a range of different topics. There are currently 12 advanced diplomas on offer. Applicants can choose from Architectural Technology, Business Administration- Accounting, Dental Hygienist, etc. All advanced diplomas are 6 semesters long and are delivered in-class. The classes are held in the Sudbury campus.
