The Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences has its campus located in Darmstadt, Germany. The h_da departments are situated at five locations that are within the city of Darmstadt and nearby Dieburg. 

The Department of Design is located at the internationally renowned Art Noveau Centre- Mathildenhöhe. The Department of Biotechnology is located near the Botanical Garden. Also, the former campus of Telekom University of Applied Sciences in Dieburg has been developed into Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences media campus.

Scholarship and Financial Aid

Admission Process

The Darmstadt University is located in Germany. The university was found in 1877 and has been characterized by a special pioneering spirit. Through outstanding achievements in research, teaching, and transfer, the Darmstadt University opens up important scientific fields of the future and continually opens up new opportunities for shaping society. It offers various undergraduate and graduate programs. Thus there are 7 Bachelor’s degree programs and 8 Master’s degree programs. There are 5 campuses with 164 buildings, spread across 309,000 sq. meters approximately. There 275 are research associates and 28 professors. In the winter semeste, 25,170 students were enrolled, out of which 32% were female and 19% were foreign students.

For the summer semester, the application deadline is extended to 20 August. The application process is already underway for many courses of study for the winter semester. The courses in the summer semester will be taught digitally. The courses requiring the physical presence of students and instructors (such as laboratory work, excursions) will be possible again in exceptional cases starting on June 1.

The student has to pass the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang” (DSH-2) exams as evidence that spoken and written command of the German language is adequate for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs with the language of instruction of German.

Student Visa Requirements For International Students

An international student is required to have some of the documents ion order to take admission at the Darmstadt University.

    • Proof of conditional admission “Bedingter Zulassungsbescheid” and a confirmed intensive course “Intensiv-Sprachkurs”. The letter must show the student is conditioned and confirmed to participate in an intensive language course before getting the final university admission. The course must last more than 6 months, with not less than 18 hours of lessons in a week.
