The Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design or PolyU Design is significant design education and research hub in Hong Kong. PolyU Design Campus
The school provides top notch research infrastructures including 8 laboratories and several first-class technical workshops. The workshops are performed in the Jockey Club Innovation Tower, a landmark building designed by Zaha Hadid, a globally known Pritzker Prize winner architect. The Research Centre of Future Caring Mobility performs interdisciplinary research across STEAM (STEM+Art & Design) disciplines to solve real world challenges.
PolyU Design Accommodations
The international students are allowed to stay in the University-managed accommodation for the first 2 years of study, subject to the availability of residential space. The University-managed accommodation includes student halls and off campus housing at a reasonable rent of 1.36 lakhs INR. From the 3rd year onwards, international students need to arrange accommodation for themselves outside the student halls.
Non-local postgraduate students have to arrange their own accommodation in Hong Kong. Given the central location of the University, students living off campus can still travel to the campus conveniently. Details on visa applications, immigration regulations, health care, cost of living and other non-academic matters of concern to non-local students will be provided to admittees separately if they are offered admission to the programs.
A brief guide has been prepared by the Non-local Student Services Team (NLSST) to help non-local students make the best use of the opportunities and facilities available during their stay at PolyU and in Hong Kong.
