Government Polytechnic Durg was started with Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering diploma courses on 1962. The Metallurgy, Electronics and Tele-communication, and Computer Science and Information Technology courses got added in the years of 1964, 1981, and 2000 respectively. Provision for taking up Part-Time Diploma Courses were initiated in the year of 1984.

The Institute is approved by AICTE and is an “Institutional member” of ISTE, New-Delhi.
It is affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University (CSVTU), Durg.
The Institute is also responsible towards the society and social services.
The Institute is working with two key projects, approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
The two projects are: Community Development through Polytechnic (CDTP) and Scheme for persons with disability (PWD).

The institute provides regular and part time diploma courses. The college provides 8 courses in regular diploma and 3 courses in part time diploma in engineering.

Government Polytechnic Durg Admission

Along side basic eligibility criteria, there are few other eligibility criteria which are to be satisfied by each student applying to the diploma course here are:

Class 10th Pass (Mathematics & Science separately pass) for SC/ST/OBC (Permanent Cast Certificate Required.
Students needs minimum 35% in Science & Maths for General Category in class 10th exam.
Students needs to be CGPPT 2015 appeared.
Out of the state student needs to be ITI (2year Course) Pass or 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or 12th pass with Vocational subject.
Students need to qualify CGPPT with good marks and ranking.

Candidates have to register online form to initiate the admission process into the institution.

Application Procedure

Go to the official site of the college and board to register online.
Appearing and clearing CGPPT will make them to proceed to next stage of admission.
Applicants have to fill the choices (such as colleges and stream).
They will be called for counselling for seat allotment.
Before Counselling and seat allotment applicants have to bring their documents and verify in the centres.
After document verification candidates will be selected by the merits and availability of seats.
