National Law University, Meghalaya Courses

The National Law University of Meghalaya offers a full-time and 5-year duration Bachelor of Business Administration + Bachelor of Laws {Hons.}, Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws {Hons.} and Bachelor of Science (Data Science) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) courses at the Graduation level. In addition, an individual can pursue a 2-year Master of Laws.

Each program consists of Foundation Courses, Core Courses, Depth Elective Courses, Open Elective Courses, and Advisory Support Courses. Students are taught Judicial Writing, Legislative Drafting, Constitutional Governance and Public Policy, Criminal Justice, Criminology and Victimology, Humanitarian Laws, Industrial Process and Labour Law, Morality, Ethics, Law and Liability, Historical Legal Studies and Traditional and Indigenous Law.

Apart from this, course content includes topics such as International and Outer Space Law, Sustainability Studies, Land Management, Infrastructure and Urban Laws, Corporate Laws and Business Management, Transactional Laws and Dispute Resolution, Organizational Governance and Leadership, Court Infrastructure and Management, Sports Law and Law and Medicine etc. An industry-oriented curriculum has been adopted by NLU and is delivered through a technology-driven ecosystem. National Law University, Meghalaya Campus Facilities

The National Law University has a very calm and breathtaking campus as it is surrounded by hills from all directions. Also, the building has been established on historic land to seamlessly integrate hi-tech amenities and cutting-edge infrastructure. In addition, an all-inclusive and supportive teaching-learning environment has been developed by the University to promote a sense of belongingness and collaboration among people.

Further, students have been given full freedom for personalized learning and work on new ideas. Hiking and Camping like adventurous events are also arranged by the University for students along with a plethora of recreational activities. The aim here is to promote teamwork and sportsmanship. The location of NLU is another added advantage for young minds as the place is both an academic and entertainment hub with the presence of Cherry Blossom festivals, NH7 Weekenders, and an endless array of rock concerts. The following facilities are provided by the college to students.

Smart Classrooms: Hi-tech, modern and spacious classrooms have been built by the NLU to deliver daily lectures and make studies more engaging for students. All lecture halls contain amenities like a projector, internet connectivity and audio-video systems so that teachers can teach using ICT Tools, PPT and pre-recorded videos.

Library: To provide additional learning sources to students and teachers and inculcate reading habits in young minds, a full-fledged Library has been developed by the University. This space is a hub for research and scholarship and hosts a rich collection of textbooks and reference books, journals, and research papers etc.

Moot Court and Client Counseling: A simulated court has been developed by the NLU to allow budding Lawyers to carry out arbitration proceedings and the work of students is judged by Judge(s) composed of faculty member(s). Apart from this, there is a separate dedicated space for students to learn how to appreciate facts, assist clients, find out objectives and best possible solutions to problems, seek to enhance communication and strengthen self-esteem.

Auditorium: A cutting-edge, and futuristic Auditorium also exists on the University campus and is mainly used to organize events such as guest lectures, workshops, webinars, seminars, and training programs. The objective of NLU is not only to allow students to interact with Law Practitioners, Judges, Lawyers and prominent personalities but to get an in-depth understanding of how things work in real-time situations. This auditorium has all the facilities including a public speaking system, projectors, internet connectivity, audio-video systems, etc.

Accommodation: Separate hostel facilities are offered by the University to both girls and boys to ensure they get a home-like environment away from home. Along with all basic to advanced amenities commodious and clean rooms, recreational space, mess, and 24*7 water, and electricity supply, CCTV cameras are installed all over the campus to ensure students' safety.
