Indian Institute of Gem and Jewellery Campus Facilities

The campus of IIGJ is very vast, vibrant, and growth-oriented. Further, overall Ambiance is perfectly suitable for teaching, learning, and collaboration among people of different skills, and experiences. It has the following facilities for all its students and staff members.

Advanced Classrooms: The institution has built highly spacious, well-ventilated, and technology-enabled lecture halls on its campus. All the classrooms are well-resourced with state-of-the-art Audio-Visual aids, multimedia projectors, and the Internet. The seating arrangement is also very comfortable. The aim is not only to allow teachers to smoothly deliver course content but also to enable students to understand even the most complex topics lucidly. Classrooms and labs are spread over a total area of 4800 sq. ft. 

CAD Lab: This lab has the most advanced jewellery design software such as Rhinoceros and Matrix, followed by Adobe Photoshop. At most 20 students can be accommodated here at a time. In total, there are 20 computers for students and teachers to use. Then there is a Manufacturing Workshop with Modern Machinery for Jewellery Making and Casting. 

Manufacturing Workshop: This workshop at IIGJ Udupi is nothing but a full-fledged jewellery manufacturing unit. Modern machinery and tools required for imparting training to students about the process of jewellery manufacturing are available here. In other words, students get hands-on experience working on the bench. Each bench has its own set of tools and consumables required for the work. All work is done by taking safety measures.

Accommodations: To give a homely environment to students away from their homes so that they can comfortably, and safely pursue their respective programs, separate accommodation facilities are developed by the IIGJ for both girls and boys. These hostels have amenities such as clean, shared, and spacious rooms along with 24*7 electricity and water supply, a Wi-Fi facility, and a mess to serve delicious foods to all. A recreational space has also been established for students to rejuvenate themselves. 

Auditorium: This ultra-modern and wonderfully developed facility is used by the college to seamlessly organize events such as conferences, and cultural fests along with guest lectures, project presentations, etc. Every amenity ranging from audio & video devices, speakers, podium, enough lighting, projectors, and internet connectivity are available here.

Sports: To keep students mentally active and physically fit, big playgrounds and in-house spaces exist in the college premises for them to play different kinds of indoor and outdoor sports/games like Volleyball, Cricket, Basketball, Tennis, Handball, Caroom, Badminton, and Table Tennis, etc. Expert trainers have been recruited to guide students at every step and perform well during competitions. 

Canteen: This is the place where students not only come to have informal chit0chat with their classmates, but also enjoy different kinds of, delicious, and freshly prepared food items and snacks at an affordable price. The facility also remains open for staff member's use. All edible items are prepared in extremely hygienic conditions, and by well-trained cooks.

Medical Room: The IIGJ has a dedicated Medical Room to deal with any kind of health emergency related to students and staff members. First-aid support and Doctor consultation are also provided to those who need it. 

Computer Lab: A fully-fledged, and big Computer Center has been established on the college campus to make students digitally proficient and teach them how to use various software used during Jewellery design. Latest computer systems with all kinds of required configuration, software, and applications are installed here. Students also come here to complete assignments, and make PPTs, and then teachers use this space to do online research and draft assignments and projects for students.
