Malmo University is a public Swedish University founded in 1998 in Malmo, Sweden. MU provides high-quality education to more than 24,000 students enrolled in various UG and PG courses while 252 PhD Students with a working staff of over 2006 employees.
The European Commission awarded Malmo University with the ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education), it is given to higher education institutions in order to participate in the Erasmus+ Program.

Malmo University Campus

Malmo University’s main campus is located in Malmo city, Sweden, the large part of the main campus was constructed on the grounds which earlier belongs to the Kockums shipyard. Malmo University has five faculties and they operate in several buildings mentioned below:
Faculty of Technology and Society: It is located near Malmö Central Station, in the building Niagara.
Faculty of Education and Society: It operates in the building of Orkanen, located near Malmö Central Station.
Faculty of Culture and Society: This faculty is also located in Niagara building near Malmö Central Station.
Faculty of Odontology: Faculty of Odontology is situated close to Triangeln in Malmo train station.
Faculty of Health and Society: The Faculty of Health and Society operates in the university hospital in Malmo.
Other facilities include:

The rent of this facility is 4644 SEK to 5136 SEK per month for single rooms and 3024 SEK to 3246 SEK per month for double rooms.
  • The rents for both facilities areto be paid for 10 months out of the 12 months leaving the rent-free periods.
  • Besides the on-campus housing, the students can prefer staying in the apartments in Malmo which are advertised by Boplats Syd, a housing agency.

Admission Requirements: The major requirements for the admissions in the University include:

  • A completed application form
  • For admission to bachelor’s degree, the following documents must be submitted:
    • Completed upper secondary education and the transcripts for the same
    • Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL and IELTS)- English studies at upper secondary level at Sweden called English 6
    • Copy of the passport, in case of wrong names proof should be provided to the University.
  • For admission to master’s degree, the following documents must be submitted:
    • Certificates and diplomas of the completed degrees prior to the admissions
    • Transcripts of the completed degrees and courses with their grades
    • English proficiency proof- requirement of English 6 (different for courses)

Admission Process

Malmo University is a Swedish public university that offers higher education and research programs approved by the European Commission. Admissions at Malmo University take place in the Autumn and Spring semesters. International students account for 30% out of the overall student population of 24,000. The University comprises five academic schools, and provides over 101 bachelor's programs and 90 master's programs. 7 bachelor's and 25 master's programs are offered in English.

There are two rounds of application acceptance, for admission to different programs at Malmo University. International applicants are advised to apply in the first round to get enough time for their visa process. The admission deadlines for both bachelor’s and master’s courses is January 17 for the upcoming autumn semester. Undergraduate and graduate seeking degree aspirants should submit their supporting documents by February 1. Applicants must submit an amount of 900 SEK (about 7,610 INR) as the application fee.

International students accepted for programs lasting more than three months must apply for a resident permit to study in Sweden. Students can apply for a resident visa on the Swedish Migration Agency's website. Students should ensure that they have received an offer of admission, paid the tuition fee deposit, and received the payment paperwork before applying for a permit.
