Orebro University, is one of the world’s most valued and ranked universities. Örebro University College was established through an alliance of the Uppsala University branch in Örebro. Then the University was founded in 1977 in Orebro, Sweden. It is one of the pioneer universities in Sweden.

Orebro University Campus

Orebro University Academic Requirements:

  • Students are required to have an undergraduate degree in the related field.
  • Students are not required to appear for the SAT or for the ACT exams.
  • Appearing for the GMAT or GRE tests is optional.
  • Students whose native language is not English are required to appear for the English proficiency test. A student can appear in any of the following tests:

  • Letter of acceptance.
  • An official transcript written in the English language is required. The document should be uploaded as a PDF-file, no hard copies are needed.
  • Students seeking admission in the Music programs are required to have two instrumental/vocal pieces. The recordings are to be sent via email to [email protected].
  • The university does not require any English level certificate.
  • Visa related documents are also required. The university will not assist the student regarding the Visa permit application process.
  • International students are also required to have residence permit before entering Sweden.

Orebro University Scholarships and Financial Aids

  • Multiple scholarships are offered to non-European students who are studying at Orebro University. These are offered by the Swedish Institute or directly via Örebro University.

Admission Process

Örebro University, ranked among the top 500 universities in the world, offers 82 outstanding professional degree programs and 950 single courses to its 15,300 students. Popular UG and PG courses in Orebro University are Medicine, Psychology, Biology, Computer Science, Sociology, Chemistry, Political Science, Business and Economics.

Admission at Örebro University opens in mid-October. With an acceptance rate of 28%, the university is fairly selective. The university lays immense importance on a UG degree with 180 credits rather than GPA, to enroll into a PG program. For all PG courses, English proficiency of 6 or B is a prerequisite. International applicants will need an IELTS score of 6.5 as the majority of the programs are taught in English. One can also share the test score of TOEFL iBT/PBT, PTE and others as proof English Language Proficiency.

Visa Process for International Students

International applicants willing to study in Sweden are required to apply for a Swedish Visa. Applicants will receive the letter of acceptance through email after being accepted by the university. Necessary documents to be submitted for completing the visa application are:

  • Proof of admission in full-time studies
  • Proof of financial support
  • Healthcare insurance policy
  • Invitation or proof of acceptance from the university.
  • Show intention to leave the country within the last day before the visa expires.
