Muhlenberg College

Muhlenberg College is a private institution established in 1848 by Frederick A. Mulenber. The college is of the American Lutheran Church. In 2023 Muhlenberg College has been recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for having a diverse and inclusive community. Muhlenberg College is also accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the accreditation was reaffirmed in June 2016.

Muhlenberg College is located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Allentown is the fastest growing city in Pennsylvania. The city is part of the famous metropolitan region called the Lehigh Valley which is home to many of the country’s famous museums, theaters, and Universities.

Muhlenberg is a liberal arts college. The college provides traditional liberal art studies as well as pre-professional courses. 

Muhlenberg College offers admission in more than 50 undergraduate programs and its newly introduced 2 graduate programs. The total enrollment of the university is 2340 for fall 2023. The total full-time faculty of the university is 185. The acceptance rate of the university for fall 2023 is 61.8%.

Programmes offered at Muhlenberg College 

Muhlenberg college offers a variety of undergraduate programmes and newly introduced graduate programs. In February 2023, the college had introduced it’s 2 new graduate programs in Master’s of Organizational Leadership and Master’s in Applied Analytics. Along with traditional liberal arts colleges, they also offer pre professional courses. Most popular majors include:

Residence Facility at Muhlenberg College

Muhlenberg college requires all its students to live on campus. Only 3rd year and fourth year students are eligible to apply for off-campus housing but these students are not guaranteed approval. Around 91% of the student population live on campus.

The dormitories are available on each side of the campus. The dorms situated on the west side of the campus are called ‘west squad’ and it is mostly resided by 1rst year students. The ‘east squad’ and ‘south squad’ are resided by upperclassmen. All these dormitories have a kitchen with stove and oven on each floor, study launches, recreational rooms. Some dorms also have vending machines and also a laundry room with coin operated machines.

There is ‘Muhlenberg Independence Living Experience (MILE)’ which offers students to stay in suites, apartments and houses. To give everyone a fair chance, Muhlenberg has kept MILE lotteries where in order to reside in the MILE housing, the students need to submit both individual and a group application to take part in the lottery.

There is also a general lottery where both the roommates have to submit an application to take part in the lottery for the rest on-campus residences. Students with any sort of disability need to submit a separate application given on a website so that they can get a suitable living experience on campus.

Campus

Muhlenberg colleges is located in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Allentown is the 3rd largest city in Pennsylvania. The campus is situated 60 minutes away from Philadelphia and 90 minutes away from New York. The campus size of the university is 75 acres. The college only has 1 campus.

Muhlenberg college provides a lot of services to the students such as health, security, counselling and transportation. There is 24 hr health service on campus.and also full time nurses and doctors are available on campus. 

There are student led organisations such as Peer Health advocates where students work together to make a healthy living environment by promoting awareness and leading activities and programmes on healthy lifestyle for the students. 

Campus has a Security department which helps in ensuring a complete safe environment to all campus citizens. Students can also volunteer to work under this department.College has provided counselling services such as groups, therapy sessions and workshops to help students from academic stress, homesickness, anxieties or any sort mental illness.

Muhlenberg College makes their application process for both undergraduate programmes relatively simple and easy to follow through.
