University of Alaska Anchorage consists of eight different community campuses and research centers. Elmendorf Air Force Base offers training to approximately 1,000 civilian and military applicants at field and on site. Military courses are offered that are customized to address the specific needs of military members as obtaining a degree comes with added obstacles due to regular transfers.

Apartments are available at Main Apartment Complex and Templewood Apartments. The Main Apartment has four individual bedrooms with a shared kitchen, living room,bathroom, and store room. Templewood Apartment provides seventeen townhouse style apartments. Apartments are limited in number and are generally reserved for students above 21 years old.

A variety of homes and suites are built especially to ensure students with temporary as well as severe disabilities. Furniture which is barrier free, bed shakers, shower benches, fire sirens, and strobe lights are easily accessible.

Admission Process

University of Alaska, Anchorage is a public research university in Alaska, Anchorage that offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs in high demand fields such as Engineering, Health, Business and Education as well as in Liberal Arts and Sciences. The University is organized into 6 schools and colleges namely College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Public Policy, School of Education, College of Engineering, College of Health and Community and Technical College.

The University has a less selective admission policy which means students with a decent academic profile stand high chances of being selected. In fall 2023, 3,673 applications were received out of which 83% were admitted. University of Alaska Anchorage had a total enrollment of 12,766 students including 12,103 undergraduates and 663 graduates.

  • Fresh applications are invited for the Spring, Summer and Fall sessions.

English Language Proficiency Requirements

Visa Process for International Students

After completing the application process, international students can apply for a U.S. student visa. The accepted students will be sent an I-20 form that will be used to obtain a student visa. To apply for a F-1 or J-1 visa to study in the U.S., students must complete the online application and provide required documents along with the form at the U.S. Embassy located in their home country.
