UG at University of Mary Washington has over 60 courses. It offers master's, and certificate programs also in Science, Arts, Business, and Education. University of Mary Washington Scholarships

The University of Mary Washington offers international student’s scholarships to study in the USA. Based on their high school grades, they are automatically evaluated for a merit scholarship worth 1000 USD to 9000 USD. Scholarships are available for graduates who transfer directly from the International Language Academy (ILA) to the university.

Admission Process

University Mary Washington has an acceptance rate of around 70-80% every year. It offers UG as well as PG courses to the students seeking to study in the USA through its three faculties namely, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, and College of Education. UMW opens for admission during the fall, spring and summer sessions and accepts applications on a rolling and space-available basis. Aspirants can apply via the UMW Application or The Common Application whichever is suitable along with the payment of 50 USD as a processing fee.

University of Mary Washington International Students Admissions

The University accepts International students, provided they have met all the guidelines laid down by the university. The applicants should have the requisite secondary education in accordance with the curriculum provided by the college. They should have the minimum grade points equivalency, should have submitted all academic records, provided proof of financial support for one academic year and met the mentioned guidelines. Even though the admission process for domestic and international students is the same, however, there are some additional requirements for international applicants.

The candidates whose native language is not English and have had a major amount of education in a non-English medium need to provide proof of their English proficiency through tests accepted by UMW. The minimum required scores by the University are:

Visa Process for International Students

International Students can apply for a US student VISA after the University issues an application letter. Post receiving the acceptance letter from the University, to apply for the VISA, candidates need to have a Certificate of Eligibility I-20 form which is usually issued by the Department of Homeland Security. Candidates have to submit the necessary documents following which the I-20 form will be released by the Centre for International Education (CEI).
