SUNY Geneseo accepts international applications for admission from students who have completed higher secondary education for applying to undergraduate programs and college to apply for graduate programs. Visa Process for International Students

Students who have been offered a place in the organization will require a F1 student visa to study in the USA. To initiate the visa process, the students must accept the offer of admission by paying 500 USD as enrollment deposit. When the enrollment deposit is received by the ISSS Office, students will be issued I-20 form. On receiving the I-20 form, it is the responsibility of the student to pay the SEVIS I-901 fee and keep a copy of the payment receipt. To apply for the F-1 visa, students will have to fill the DS-160 form and schedule an interview with the nearest U.S. embassy.

Students must keep the following documents ready before appearing for the interview:

  • Valid passport
  • DS-160 Visa Application form
  • Receipt of payment of visa application fee of 160 USD
  • Receipt of payment of SEVIS I-901 fee
  • Applicant’s photo
  • Form I-20

The acceptance of an application is determined by the admission committee after reviewing several aspects of the application such as the academic records, scores of exams, recommendations, language proficiency and other documents required for admission.
