  • Manhattan School of Music is located at the west-side of Manhattan’s academic hub that shares its upper neighborhood with Barnard College, Columbia University, Columbia Teachers College, the International House, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and Union and Jewish theological seminaries.
  • There are eight performance halls, 22 classrooms, and 130 practice rooms. MSM students perform in more than a dozen music halls around the city. More than 700 concerts are held at campus concert halls per year.

    • MSM Scholarship: MSM Scholarship is awarded to approximately 50% of full-time enrolled students. Admission Process

Manhattan School of Music offers Bachelor’s, Masters and Doctoral degree in music. The acceptance rate is 38%, hence, the college is highly selective in their admission review process. Manhattan School of Music International Admissions

Admission process for international students is quite different from domestic students.

Audition Requirement

Prescreening is required for the initial admission process. You should submit a video recording to be considered for an invitation to a live audition. Upload the recording directly to your application.

Recording should not be record professionally and studio recording is not required, but the sound quality should be as good.

English Proficiency Requirement for International Application

Manhattan School of Music highly recommends the submission of TOEFL and IELTS score for international students. They conduct an in-house English assessment during the audition week, this is for those students whose first language is not English.

The English Assessment comprised is 3 parts of listening, reading and interview. The result of the assessment will help to determine your English level.
