Beacom School of Business International Admission

International students can submit unofficial or partial transcripts at the time of submitting application. However, complete official transcript is required at the time of enrollment.

Admission Requirement for International Students

• A GPA of 2.6 or above at high school level
• Transcripts of institutes previously attended
• Copy of passport page containing the photo, date of birth, passport number, date of expiration and signature
• Financial support of at least one year of academic and living expenses

English Proficiency Requirement for International Students

Non-native english speakers are required to demonstrate english proficiency by submitting one of the following test scores, for undergraduate admission:

Visa Requirement for International Students

Undergraduate exchange students only apply for a J-1 visa otherwise all non-immigrant international students apply for F-1 visa. With I-20 the student can apply for F-1 visa and with DS-2019 one can apply for a J-1 visa.

2. Documents stating that the applicant can support expenses for one year.
3. Proof of SEVIS Fee payment(receipt)
4. Visa application forms(available at the U.S Consulate or Embassy
5. Any other document needed by the specific Consulate/Embassy.

Beacom School of Business Undergraduate Admission

The University has partnered with Common App for undergraduate admissions from Spring 2020. For paper application of Undergraduate programs, the payment can be made via credit card by dialling the number 1-877-269-6837

Admission requirements:

• High school diploma or its recognized equivalent (GED)
• ACT composite score of 21 or above (SAT 1070) OR
• SAT score of 1070 or above OR
• Grade point average of at least 2.6 (4.0 scale) in all high school courses OR
• Rank in the upper 50% of high school graduating class OR
• 3 or higher on the English Language Arts and Mathematics Smarter Balanced Assessments

Applicant’s high school curriculum must have following courses:

• 4 years of English OR
  • ACT English sub-test score of 21 or above
  • OR AP English score of 3 or above
• 3 years of Advanced Mathematics OR
  • ACT Math sub-test score of 23 or above OR
  • AP Calculus score of 3 or above
• 3 years of Laboratory Science OR
  • ACT Science Reasoning subtest score of 20 or above OR
  • AP Science score of 3 or above
• 3 years of Social Science OR
  • ACT Social Studies/Reading sub-test score of 20 or above OR
  • AP Social Studies score of 3 or above
• 1 year Fine Arts for students graduating from South Dakota high schools

Transfer students on an F-1 visa must transfer their SEVIS record to the University of South Dakota after admission. Contingent admissions is provided until an applicant submits all official documents, 30 days prior to start of classes. Conditional admission is offered by some graduate programs for students who meet all the other criteria except English proficiency requirement.
