Review policy

Reviews on Admistay are written by students about places they lived in. This page explains who can write one, how we check them, and how review cashback works.
Who can write a review
Anyone with an Admistay account can review a property they lived in. Each stay can be reviewed once, from the check-in date.
Rooms booked through Admistay appear in My stays automatically when you log in with the email you booked with, and their reviews show Booked with Admistay. You can also add a stay you booked somewhere else; that review is checked the same way, without the label.
How we check reviews
Every review, photo and video is checked by a person at Admistay before it is published, usually within 2 working days. We publish positive and negative reviews alike. A low rating is never a reason to reject a review, and properties cannot pay to have a review removed or to see it before it is published.
We don't publish a review, or we remove it later, when:
- It doesn't read as written by someone who lived there.
- It seems to be about another building.
- It includes names, phone numbers, room numbers or other people's details.
- It includes threats, hate, harassment or profanity.
- It includes links, promotion or copied text.
- It's too short, or not about living there.
- A photo or video breaks the media rules.
- It's the same as another review.
If we don't publish your review, we email you the reason. You can change it and send it again once.
Editing your review
You can edit your review from My stays. Changes to a published review are checked first; the published version stays up until we approve the change.
Photos and videos
You can add up to 6 photos and 2 videos of up to 60 seconds. Show the room, building and area. Don't include people's faces, documents, room numbers or anything that identifies someone. We remove location and camera data from every file. We may publish a review without a photo or video that breaks these rules.
“Written at the property”
While writing a review you can tap once to check you are at the building. If your phone places you within 150 metres, the review shows Written at the property. We keep only whether the check passed and the distance, not your location. This is optional and doesn't affect whether a review is published.
Review cashback
When you review a stay you booked through Admistay and the review is published, we pay you Admistay cashback: £10 in the UK, A$10 in Australia and US$10 elsewhere (amounts can change; the amount shown when your review is approved applies). The cashback is the same whatever your rating, and we never ask for a positive review.
It is credited from 60 days after your check-in (or after approval, if later) and by day 90. Reviews that earned cashback are marked on the property page. We may cancel cashback for a review we later remove under this policy.
How your name is shown
Reviews show your first name and, if you add it, your university, such as “Priya, King's College London”. Your surname, email and phone number are never shown.
Reporting a review
Use Report on any review to tell us something is wrong. We look at every report and remove reviews that break this policy.
