A guarantor, usually a parent or guardian, is someone who meets certain financial requirements and will co-sign your lease in order to guarantee your rent will be paid. By co-signing, they commit to paying your rent during your lease if for any reason you can’t make the payments yourself. The financial requirements for guarantors vary from city to city.
