About Bhavan's College

Bhavan's College is a prominent institute in Mumbai and also one of the affiliated colleges of Mumbai University. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as BA, B.Com., BMM and M.Sc. with multiple specializations to 5,000 students. The college has developed a well-experienced and professional faculty of 150 academic teachers for the guidance and overall development of the students. Besides this Bhavan's College has also obtained 88th position for Arts by India Today in 2021. The admission to all the UG courses is provided on the basis of merit scores achieved by the students in the class 10+2 level board examination whereas, for PG courses, the candidate has to qualify for the bachelor’s degree examination with the minimum required marks from a recognized university. The college also provides financial assistance to the students in the form of scholarships based on their academic performance and needs. In terms of placements, the placement cell of the college invites many national and multinational companies for the placement program every year. Some of the major recruiters are Cytel and TCS. Bhavan’s Research Centre is a part of the Microbiology department which focuses on research and consultancies in the areas of Environmental Microbiology, Food Microbiology, and Hygiene.
JAWS is a special software which is acquired by the college to help visually challenged students access and use computers. This is housed in the library on the ground floor.
The college offers the facility of group insurance for all the students in which the students have to fill the form along with an annual premium of INR 40. The students will get up to 1 Lac in case of permanent disability.

Library: Bhavan’s College has a well-maintained library with a rich collection of 75,000+ books on various topics of Arts, Science and Commerce. Besides this, the college also has a collection of periodicals, audiovisual materials, bound volumes, and up-course E-Resources. The library has automated its functions by using ‘Libsys’ software.
