About Smt. Chandibai Himathmal Mansukhani College - [CHM]

Smt. Chandibai Himathmal Mansukhani College (CHM) Thane, was established in 1965 to cater to aspirations of the minority Sindh Community. It is also is known by the name of Smt. C.H.M. College of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management, Mass Media and Information Technology, and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It offers full-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce, along with additional junior college courses in Information Technology, Environmental Studies, and Physical Education. Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are also available.

CHM Thane Admission

The admissions to all the courses are done through an admission test and interview. For the Ph.D. program, candidates having a valid score in NET/ JRF/ UGC can apply for direct admission. Candidates need to follow a sequence of steps to apply for admission

CHM Thane Placement

The opportunities for placement are very high in this college. The college does not have any official Training and Placement Cell. However, the faculty takes an active interest and helps students with employment offers. Various companies participate in the placement drive and select good quality students. Students have received offers from Wipro, L&T, and Infosys. There is no internship offers provided by the college and students are expected to secure their own.

The college has excellent infrastructure and provides several facilities. Some of the facilities are listed below:

Gym Khana & Sports Ground: The college has 1 gymkhana .where students can perform fitness activities and 2 sports ground for different outdoor games
Laboratories-The laboratories are equipped with modern instruments to cater to the needs of the present syllabus and beyond.
Reading Room - 225 students can be accommodated in large and reading room attached to the Main Library.
Library - There is also a central library. It also has a total number of 74,230 Books, including 16,000 textbooks, 101 Journal, and 28 newspapers.
Canteen: The college has a canteen which serves good quality of food with proper hygiene
Auditorium: There is an auditorium with 150 seating capacity and an open auditorium

CHM Thane Scholarships

Students belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC and EWS category can apply for fee-concessions. A one-time scholarship is given to students with exemplary performance when admitted. Other than that, the college does not provide any annual scholarships. CHM, Thane also helps students secure education loans from different banks.
