About Indian Institute of Fashion & Design - [IIFD]

Indian Institute of Fashion and Design (IIFD) at Chandigarh that got established in the year 2004 is one of the most premier institutes for fashion and design in Chandigarh today. IIFD is featured and recognized as one of the Top 10 Best Fashion Institutes for the year 2022 in India by Education Scopup Magazine.The college offers around 23 courses across 5 streams. Admissions are offered to the college on the basis of merit. The college provides theoretical as well as practical field exposure to the students that makes them highly skilled professionals. It organizes various workshops and activities to enhance the soft skills and practical knowledge of the students. The institute remains open for 7 days a week to cater regular classes and on weekend’s doubts sessions are organized for the students who want to learn more about the topics, and be market-ready for the career paths. IIFD prepares students for professional excellence in design and business through rigorous and adaptable academic programs, experiential learning and innovative partnerships. The institute has signed MoU with Fabbusse Africa to Fashion Design education internationally.

Admissions at the institution is completely based on merit. The admission of the student to any of the courses offered by the college depends on the marks obtained by the student in the last qualifying exam.

Candidates can apply for admission to this college either online or offline.

Application Process

Candidates can either go to the website and fill the application form or can also collect the form from the college premises.
For the online application, the candidates have to fill the form very carefully and upload a scanned copy of the required documents and have to submit it before the deadline.
Alternatively, they can send it over by mail or hand it over directly. Submission of the application form does not confirm the seat.
After the submission of all the applications, a merit list will be out.
Candidates will be called for a counselling session and this is the most important step.
