About Symbiosis School of Liberal Art - [SSLA]

Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts, established in 2011, is a private institute located in Pune. Symbiosis School of liberal arts is affiliated to Symbiosis International Deemed and is re-accredited with an “A++” grade by NAAC and recognized by UGC. The college offers 2 undergraduate courses, B.A and B.Sc across various specializations like Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Computers, Mathematics and Statistics, Humanities, and professional courses like Media and Business Studies. SSLA Pune Courses

SSLA offers the students a 4-year course in BA and BSc programs in the liberal arts field. The following are the details of courses offered by the college:

BA (Hons./ Hons. with Research)	For ISC,CBSE and HSC boards, students should have passed with 50% marks in their board exam. For GCE/IGCSE/GCSE students must have a minimum of 5/4 subjects in A, B, C Grades including English at ORDINARY(“O”) Level and 2/3 subjects at ADVANCED (“A”) Levels. (Total of 7 subjects) For IB Certificate or Diploma, students Certificate: Applicants must have a minimum of 24 credits and passed a minimum of 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL). Diploma: Applicants must have a minimum of 24 credits and passed a minimum of 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL) along with core requirements of Extended Essay, Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). Diploma students should also have their IB Diploma and transcript with Diploma Results stating “Diploma Awarded”

SSLA Pune Admissions

The admissions for the undergraduate program is Non SET Admission process. Interested candidates can directly apply through SSLA official website.

The applicant must enroll in the RCBA (Rolling-Cycle-Based Admission) process, which begins in January 2024 and ends in June 2024.
SSLA admission is based on a comprehensive evaluation that considers SOPs, LORs, Class 8 -11 scores, Extracurricular Activities, Written Aptitude Test (WAT) scores and Personal Communication (PI) scores.
WAT and PI will be conducted after filling out the application form and paying the application fee. Please see the timeline section for details.

Classrooms: Classrooms at SSLA are more than just four walls, it’s a place for the students to share their thoughts and understand the depth of topics. These classrooms are extremely technology-friendly and facilitate multimedia learning.
Performance Studio: Dance is one of the most encouraging activities in college, and therefore the students have been provided with a dance studio. The front wall is lined with mirrors that help with coordination and practice, the floor is wooden to aid flexibility and smoothness. There is a facility of speakers that amplify the music to reverberate all around the room.
Library: The students are in possession of ID cards that enable them to access and acquire material and facilities from the libraries. Symbiosis unites different disciplines within its many colleges, which makes sure that the books available to the students are vast in number and scope.
Canteen: One of the defining venues of the campus is Symbieat, the canteen. The canteen within the campus serves a variety of snacks, drinks, and meals vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The range of cuisines is wide and the seating area is large. Students can get lunch, dinner, and snacks.
Gym: The campus has a fully equipped gym in addition to other sporting grounds and additional facilities. The gym primarily has facilities such as a free weights area, different exercise machines, and a cardio theatre with a whole set of treadmills and stationary bikes. In addition to this, the college also provides them with personal trainers to look after their well being.
Health Centre: The Symbiosis Society is committed to healthcare facilities and support. Each Symbiosis Campus is equipped with a functioning health center. In case of emergencies, medical and if required, financial support is available for each student. At least one doctor is present on campus 24x7.

The faculty at SSLA is extremely knowledgeable and has plenty of experience in the field of humanities and liberal arts. They have nine professors with a Ph.D. degree, three professors with a NET degree, others with MA, MBA, MS, M.Sc degrees. The professors at SSLA aim to bring about a holistic change in the students. They teach them not only things related to academics but also teach them other necessary as well as essential life skills that are required by students.
