D.B.H.P.S Basaveshwar College of Education, A dream seen by Mahatma Gandhi to unite North India & South India in as early as 1918 came true with the formation of Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Dharwad & it was awarded as an Institution of National Importance by Central Act 14 of 1964. The language of operation was Hindi as the majority in India spoke Hindi. DBHP Sabha is a member of Commonwealth universities & Association of Indian Universities. Mahatma Gandhi was the lifetime president of the Sabha. Currently, Justice V.S.Malimath is the President of the Sabha. D.B.H.P.S Basaveshwar College of Education offers Graduates courses with Economics / Political Science / Sociology / Public Administration History / Geography will have to offer “Social Studies”. Admission is merit-based & will depend on the aggregate of all the 3 years of graduation.
The Sabha can grant degrees, diplomas & certificates for teaching in Hindi or proficiency in Hindi. The faculty is highly qualified.
