Bongaigaon College is a private and one of the most reputed colleges in the north-east area since its establishment in the year 1964. The college is affiliated by the most reputed University in North-east India that is Guwahati University.

Bongaigaon College Campus

The College Campus is situated in 200kms away from Guwahati, spanning more than 8 hectors. The College offers Undergraduate courses in Arts & Social Science, Commerce as well as 10+2 in Arts and Commerce, and postgraduate programs in English, Vocational and management courses.

Bongaigaon College believes that the academic domain should be supported by extracurricular activities by enriching their social and cultural sensibility. The college consists of more than 3000 students, 60 professors and more than a score of course and ten. The College upholds the academic values and provides humanist education & contemporary profession. For the last few years, Bongaigaon College’s Faculty has been so reputed that in the present time they can claim for being the premier college in Assam.

Before the past few years, Bongaigaon College introduced with a few new courses under the convergence scheme of IGNOU. Since then, the college is moving in a better direction towards its goal. The new courses are introduced in Arts and Science streams and as in one, courses offered at Bongaigaon College with their faculty are focusing on the improvement of academic segments. Bongaigaon College Admissions and Eligibility 2024

The College started in the year 1964 with only Arts and Social science subjects, whereas in the year 1978 the Bongaigaon College introduced the commerce stream in graduation level. Admission to the postgraduate programs started in the year 1991.

Candidates 10+2/higher secondary from a recognized board are eligible for the course- B.A.(Hons), B.B.A, and B.J.M.C

Whereas, Candidates seeking admissions in M.A, M.Com or M.Voc must have passed 10+2+3(in a similar course) from any recognized university.

Hostel Facility

Students coming from other states to study academics get an advantage to stay at the Bongaigaon College Hostel. The college has accommodation facilities for girls as well as for the boys. There are three hostels in total, two for boys and one for girls. The girl hostel consists of around 55 seats whereas boys hostels provide 50 seats in total.

Candidate can get the accommodation confirmation once their admission to the college is confirmed.
Only students from other states can get the hostel.
Hostel seats are also divided into categories alike admission categories - UR/SC/ST&OBC.
Since there are limited seats available, accommodation admission will be based on the merit list.

Library Facility

The Central Library of Bongaigaon College is open for its students as well as to neighbouring colleges. The library consists of more than 40,000 textbooks and critical references. The students of the college are free to subscribe to research journals and further academic resources. Every department has its reference section, the textbooks and reference books are well organized by the librarians.
