Dumkal college was established on September 21, 1999, with the aim of providing Higher Education to the girl minority with easily accessible education. Located in Murshidabad, West Bengal with affiliation to the University of Kalyani. Science, Commerce, and Arts are the popular streams in which Undergraduate, General, and Honors degree courses are offered.

Admission to the various courses offered such as B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., B.A. is done through candidates’ scores in the qualifying examination. No entrance examinations are conducted for admissions. Distance Learning mode has been recently added to the program by the college in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Open University.
The College has an organizational collaboration with Rokeya Nari Unnayan Samiti, an NGO which enhances Community Development.

A separate Quota for Sports is present for candidates who have participated in inter-university games and sports for 2 consecutive years as per rules, also have participated in Inter-District, Inter-State, or Open Tournaments.
Total of 1 seat in Honors Course per subject and Total of 2 seats in General Course per subject is reserved for this Category.

Dumkal College Scholarships

Many Scholarships are available to the students while studying in their respective courses in Dumkal College.

Minority Scholarship

Scholarships will be given to students who score at least 50% marks in their previous final test.
Parents' or guardians' annual income from all sources does not exceed INR 1 lakh.

OBC Scholarship

How to Avail?

STEP 3: After completing all the necessary steps, return it to the Ministry.
The scholarship will be received to the students whose parents have an annual income of INR 2.5 lakh to INR 4.5lakh.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship

A student should secure a minimum of 53% marks in Honors subjects at graduation level.
This scholarship offers INR 1,000/month to INR 5,000/month.

Eligibility

Must be West Bengal residents.
After passing from the state board, the council of secondary/higher secondary, Madrasah education, or a state university, the candidate must pursue studies at a post-madhyamik level and onwards at an educational institute in West Bengal
The family's annual income should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh.

Kanyashree Prakalpa

The West Bengal Government has taken an initiative for improving the Life and Status of the girls who are economically backward.
All the girls who are unmarried and between the age of 13-18 years of age are given INR 500 for continuing education and are given INR 25,000 at 18years of age as a one-time payment.
