About Elphinstone College

Elphinstone College of Mumbai is one of the reputed and prestigious colleges which is accredited with the NAAC 'A' Grade under the affiliation of Dr. Homi Bhabha State University. The college is known for offering various undergraduate programs in the Arts and Commerce, as well as Science streams such as B.A, B.Sc, B.Com etc. Apart from the aided courses, the Elphinstone College also offers self financed courses in the disciplines of Management and Technology. However, admission to these programmes is strictly based on the merits obtained by the students in their 10+2 or last qualifying examinations.

Besides, the Elphinstone College also provides the option of certification courses/add-on courses in Remote Sensing (RS) Technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the duration of 3 months. Also, Elphinstone College is recognized for its historic significance and gothic architecture. Elphinstone College Admission

Elphinstone College admission 2024 has started. The admission process is entirely merit-based for both UG and PG courses offered at the college.

Step 1: Candidates have to register for their chosen course and college on the official website of HBSU using their mobile number, email address and date of birth.
Step 2: After this, candidates have to pay a minimal registration fee and wait for the class 12 results. The merit list is released by the college on the basis of availability of seats, registered students, and marks of the applicants in the last qualifying exam
Step 3: After the merit list is released, shortlisted candidates have to report to Elphinstone College with all the required documents. Then, they must pay the Elphinstone College admission fee in online mode through the college’s official website.
Step 4: The candidates must then submit the admission form, supporting documents, and a copy of the fee payment receipt at the college to confirm their admission at the college.

Elphinstone College offers the following facilities for the benefit of its students:

Hostel: The college has hostels at various locations around Churchgate. About 100 seats are available for boys in two different hostels. While 60 seats are available for girls. Admissions to the hostel are done through the college website.
Sports and Recreation: Elphinstone College provides provisions for outdoor sports like Cricket, Football, Basketball, and Volleyball. Facilities for indoor games like table tennis, chess, as well as carrom, are also available. The college has its own gymkhana, which is a furnished fitness center.
Film Library: The college has a library dedicated to the best cinemas. Collections from world cinema, Director’s collections, regional and western cinema, war, and comedy movies are available.
Music Library: From classics to contemporary music, from regional tunes to western beats, the music library of Elphinstone College is equipped with a vast collection that helps students relax and meditate.
Library: With over 120,000 books in total, the college library is a spacious hall which assists students in conducting their necessary academic research. In addition, the library is equipped with around 10 periodicals, over 100 CDs, 30 audio cassettes, 25 videotapes, 30 maps, and 6 daily newspapers for the benefit of the students. The campus also houses a reading room that provides a serene environment.
