Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Varanasi was established in the year 2017. The institute is an initiative of GJEPC. IIGJ has Collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Government of India, and actively contributes to shaping policies in fostering the industry's expansion. IIGJ Varanasi organizes India International Jewellery Shows (IIJS) annually to promote exports, enhance the industry's image and facilitate trade meetings.

It offers 1 year Diploma course in 2 specializations and certification courses in four specializations. The Diploma in Jewellery Design program focuses on manual design, Corel and Rhino. Students also learn to design according to different markets such as the Indian market, UK market and US market, and also according to different ERA. The selection for the Certification course is done on a first come first serve basis.

IIGJ Varanasi is spread across 6,600 sq. ft. area, exclusively designed for jewellery training. Located in the "Kuber Complex," the institute enjoys easy accessibility for students. The design studio or the Smart classrooms are equipped with modern audio-visual aids for video display, presentation boards and screens. The Design Studio at IIGJ has a capacity of 25 students providing an environment for creative exploration and hands-on learning experience in the field of Jewellery design or manufacturing. 

The CAD Lab at IIGJ Varanasi is equipped with the most advanced jewellery design software such as CAD Rhino and CAD Matrix, along with Adobe Photoshop, and has an overall capacity of 30 students working on the computers at a time. Further, the institute also has a manufacturing unit which aids the students to gain hands-on experience in Jewellery Manufacturing. IIGJ Varanasi has a well-stocked library having books, journals and periodicals related to Jewellery Design and Jewellery Manufacturing.
