Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition Kolkata, also known as IHM Kolkata, started functioning in the year of 1963. It is an autonomous body which runs under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. IHM Kolkata has been ranked 10th among the hotel management institutes by India Today 2023. It offers BSc HHA and MSc HA program jointly with NCHMCT and IGNOU . In addition, the institution also offers PG Diploma, diploma and certificate courses of 1.5 years.
IHM Kolkata course admission are are based on the scores of the entrance examination conducted by NCHMCT. It considers NCHMCT JEE scores for BSc admission and MSc JEE scores for MSc admission, followed by counselling. IHM Kolkata has been showing commendable placement records and the students are being placed in the top hotel, resorts and retail companies. IHM Kolkata Admission 2024
IHM Kolkata course admission process are explained below:
- Admission to all the courses here is done based on merit as well as the entrance examination NCHMCT-JEE. For admission to B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Management, candidates should possess 10+2 or equivalent as the minimum qualification. The aspirants must clear the NCHMCT-JEE entrance examination, followed by Counselling to get admission into the course.
- Admission to the M.Sc. program is based on merit as well as the entrance mode. Candidates applying must have completed BSc in Hospitality and Hotel Management are eligible and the candidates will have to appear for MSc JEE followed by Counselling to get admission into the program.
- Admission to Diploma and Certificate courses are made based on the merit in the qualifying exam alone. The entire application process is offline.
Application Procedure:
- Aspirants must collect the application form along with the prospectus from the college itself.
- All the required details must be filled in correctly in the application form and attach the documents.
- Register yourself to the entrance as well.
- Download the admit card when it is available.
- Appear and crack the exam.

- Laboratories/Kitchens- It facilitates their students with well-equipped laboratories and kitchens to carry out their practical sessions comprising six fully equipped state-of-the-art kitchens and two laboratories for bakery and confectionary. There is also a well-equipped restraint which is made for their students/trainees to learn classical style of food and beverage services.
- Library- The library is stacked up with a bountiful collection of more than 10,000 books to enhance their knowledge in the field of hospitality and management.
- Audi Visual lab- The front office is well-equipped Fidelio Laboratory with various audio-visual equipment.
IHM Kolkata Hostel
IHM Kolkata offers hostel facility for the students in campus only. The Hostel Seats are allotted by the hostel committee. Meals are provided in the hostel on chargeable basis. The hostel facilities include a gym (chargeable), sports facilities, etc. There are many activities that are organised by the hostellers. ln house doctor is also available on alternate days.
