The college was established in 2007 to provide advanced degrees and research opportunities in the pharmaceutical sciences. UGC has designated this university as an "Institute of National Importance." The campus is designated as a "centre of excellence" for higher education in the pharmaceutical sciences, built by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizer. The institute has a 200 acres residential campus with necessary amenities and Internship opportunities.
