NCRD'S Sterling Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), started in the year 2004 is one of the top B-Schools in Navi Mumbai. National Centre for Rural Development founded by Hon’ble Shri Dilip Walse Patil was established to educate the rural masses of India. Sterling Institute of Management Studies is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It is approved by AICTE, DTE and Government of Maharashtra. SIMS is accredited by NAAC with A+ grade and one of the Burlington English qualifications assessment centre. NCRD’s SIMS ranked 35 among India's elite non-IIM B-schools survey 2023-24 and ranked 37 in the Higher Education Review: Top 100th Beyond IIMS B-School Survey 2022. Further, SIMS is ranked as an "A" grade Business School by the Competition Success Review-GHRDC B-School Survey 2019 and 2021. Sterling Institute of Management Studies offers 2 years of full-time Masters in Management Studies (MMS) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) to aspirants who have completed their graduation or equivalent in the relevant field.

SIMS offers 100% placement assistance to the final year students of MMS and MCA courses. Soft skill training, industrial visits, and conferences are conducted by the Institute for the overall development of the students. Workshops and industrial visits help the students to understand the real world. The placement cell is working towards better placement opportunities being provided to the students. A few companies that visit the campus during the placement drive are Syntel, TCS, Café Coffee Day, Capgemini, KPMG, Voltas and Vodafone. The highest package being offered was 20 LPA.
