About North Orissa University - [NOU]

North Orissa University (NOU) is an open public university established in the year 1998 and is situated in the regional city of Baripada at Orissa. The University is recognized by the UGC, Bar Council of India, and IGNOU New Delhi. The University is also accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore with a B grade. The university has two campuses; the main campus is Baripada offering PG in eight subjects and the Keonjhar campus, offering PG in five subjects. Admissions to some courses are purely merit-based while for others, entrance test along with an interview if applicable are held.

NOU Baripada Admission

For admissions in PG courses, candidates must have an UG degree with the required specialisation and must have appeared for tests as specified by the department in the website. For few courses, admissions will be based on the result of additional interview round.

Application Procedure

Visit the official website of the college at http://www.nou.nic.in/
Click on the “Online Admission” link for applying online and to access other admission related information
Register yourself by filling up your personal information like phone number and email ID
After successful registration, Application ID and Password is generated
Candidates can log into their profile and click on Apply online
Candidates need to fill educational qualification as per the course opted for
On completion of filling up of the form, candidates need to upload photo and signature
Finally make payment of the application fees either by Debit card/Credit card or by e-payment through internet banking
The filled up the Application form should be printed for future needs
The Application form (hard copy-generated after filling up the form) along with all the photocopies of the certificates, mark sheets, and documents supporting to reservation category must reach the office of the chairman, P.G. council
Candidates will receive intimation by SMS and e-mail when the admit cards get published and same can be downloaded by login into e-Admission portal

The facilities imparted by the institution are listed below.

Hostels- The University has separate hostel facility for the male and female students. Hostels have round the clock security guards and are covered by a 24x7 CCTV surveillance. Providing hygienic food and clean hostel rooms is the top priority of the hostel along with the facility of RO purified water and inverter facility.
Laboratories and Computer Centre- To make the students gain practical knowledge on diversified subjects taught in theory, the university has laboratories equipped with modern instruments and devices. Also, the institute has a fully air-conditioned computer centre consisting of 50 Desktop Computers (Dell Optiplex 980, I3 processor, 9.93GHz) with round the clock internet and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Sports Facility- The institute supports sports activity for physical and mental well-being of its students with the good establishment for cricket and football. Also, indoor games like table tennis, and carom are accommodated by the University.
Canteen/ Cafeteria- The university canteen is an affordable one with options for choosing food items from a variety of options. The food served by the canteen is prepared and served in a healthy atmosphere.
Medical Centre- The University is provided with a medical room where a part-time doctor is available during the college hours. Both students and staff of the institute can avail medical facilities and have access to limited free medicines as and when required.
Banking Facility- Bank of India has its branch in the University campus to enable banking transactions by the students, teachers, and employees of the University. The Bank functions 6 days in a week.
