Parvatibai Chowgule College of Science and Arts popularly known as Chowgule College is the first and only autonomous college in the state of Goa. The college has been placed in the 101-150th rank bank in the NIRF India Rankings 2018. Recently, it was selected in the DBT Star Scheme of the Government of India. It was also awarded the Best Internship Partner Award at the Goa Rugby Awards 2018.

Chowgule College offers 28 Undergraduate, 8 Postgraduate, and 2 Ph.D. programs. In addition to these, the college also offers 4 postgraduate diploma programs. As of now, it has 1340 undergraduate students, 139 postgraduate students and 8 Ph.D. students. Admission to these courses is merit-based.

Chowgule College Admissions

Admissions to undergraduate courses of Parvatibai Chowgule College are done on the basis of the marks scored in 10+2 level, or its equivalent, in the relevant subjects. Applications for undergraduate programs generally open in December.

Admissions to postgraduate courses of the college are done on the basis of the following:

Master of Arts Geography	Bachelor’s degree from recognized University (preferably in Geography) with at least 40%
Master of Arts English	Bachelor’s degree from recognized University (preferably in English) with at least 60%
Master of Arts Economics	Bachelor’s degree from recognized University
Master of Arts Psychology	Bachelor’s degree from recognized University (preferably in psychology) with at least 55%
Master of Science Information Technology	B.Sc / BCA / Equivalent with a minimum 55% at degree level

Admissions to the PG Diploma courses are done on the following basis:

Geoinformatics: A minimum score of 55% in the following from a recognized university is eligible: BSc/MSc. (Earth & Life sciences) BCA, BSc. (Comp Science), BE Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) B.A./ MA. Geography
Computer Applications: B.Com/ B.Sc/ B.A/ B.C.A/ B.Ed/ B.E / any graduate from recognized University.

The facilities in Parvatibai Chowgule College include:

Hostel Arrangements: The college provides four flats for the accommodation of Girls, at Jonety Residency, Agali, Fatorda, Salcete-Goa. There are another three flats for the accommodation of boys at three separate apartments, and finally, a guest house for Faculty and/or Guest at Antonieta Apartments, Borda, Margao Goa.
Sports and Fitness Centre: The Sports and Fitness Centre sprawls over a 5-acre property. It has an indoor capacity of 35000 sq. ft, equipped with cardio equipment, selector’s machine, indoor running track, jacuzzi, etc. The outdoor facilities include an all-season artificial football field, basketball court, and tennis court.
Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Centres: This center deals not only with therapies and services related to injuries but also provides :

Wifi: This is through a system of registration that applies only to students of Parvatibai Chowgule college. It ensures free wifi throughout the campus.

Ques. What information should be included while submitting an application for undergraduate courses?

Ans. Please submit the following documents:

Original and photocopies of statements of marks at H.S.S.C or equivalent examination.
Original and 2 photocopies of leaving certificate from the last school attended.
Six copies of identity card size photograph of the applicant
For applicants for any board other than Goa board, a provisional eligibility certificate must be submitted.
For applicants to 2nd year or 3rd year from other Universities, a migration certificate must be submitted.
