Established in 2012 through a governmental proposal, The Government college of Engineering, Sengipatti, Thanjavur is a nationally accredited university that is affiliated to Anna University and accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Further, the following criteria needs to be met for the candidate to be eligible for the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions-

Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. from schools situated in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply. They need not produce a Nativity Certificate for verification.
Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII Std. or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply along with the original Nativity Certificate.

The required cut off ranges change every year depending on the number of students, question patterns and results of the appearing candidates, however they are generally in the same range.
