Kaliyaganj College Admissions

Admissions to all courses are solely on the basis of merit in the 12th standard examination. For the general courses, the merit list is released on the basis of merit in the Best five subjects, including English and excluding EVS. For the honor courses, the merit list is released based on the merit achieved in the subject of specialization added to the grand total in other subjects, including English and excluding EVS. The facilities provided by the college include:

Library: The library houses 20,215 books of various disciplines with more than 2,000 different titles. It is also a subscriber of 21 journals. The library also provides photocopying facilities.
Hostel: The college hosts male students in the north end of its campus. It can accommodate only 20 students. A Women’s hostel is also under construction.
Laboratories: The college has laboratories of Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Computer Science, Mathematics, Botany and Zoology. The laboratories are quite spacious and well equipped with up to date apparatus.
Computer Centre: There is a Central Computer Centre with Internet and LAN facilities. Besides that, the computer science department has its own laboratory. The teaching staff room has four computers with internet facilities where teachers carry on their research work for the academic up-gradation of the whole institution.

Ques. Does the college offer any vocational courses?

Ans. Yes, vocational courses under the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education & Training have been started in this college from the academic year 2006-07. Two streams: Home Science and Agriculture are available in the college at X+2 level.

Ques. Are there any reservations?

Ans. Yes, in each course, 3% (three percent) seats are reserved for physically handicapped applicants.

Ques. What are the age criteria required?

Ans. Students who passed in 2019-20 are eligible. Students who passed out of 12th in 2018-19 are also eligible, but 5 merit points will be cut from their selection score. Similarly, students who passed out of 12th in 2017-18 are eligible but 10 merit points will be cut. If the student passed out before 2017, he/ she is not eligible for admission.
