About Malnad College of Engineering - [MCE]

Malnad College of Engineering (MCE), Hassan was established in 1960 under the auspices of the Malnad Technical Education Society, Hassan. MCE was the first college to be established in the Malnad region of Karnataka state and was affiliated to the University of Mysore, until 1997-98. Malnad Technical Education Society, Hassan, is now affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum.

Motto of the college is “Nothing is equal to Knowledge”
MCE is at a distance of about 180 Kms. from Bangalore
Hassan city is the Head Quarters of one of the 28 Districts in the state of Karnataka
The college was affiliated to the University of Mysore but changed affiliation to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. In 2007 the college became autonomous.
