About PGDAV College

Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo Vedic (PGDAV) College is a constituent college of University of Delhi. It is a co-educational institution and has also been accredited by NAAC. PGDAV offers 13 Undergraduate programs taught by 12 departments in the fields of Arts, Commerce, Computer Science, and Mathematical Sciences. PGDAV College also offers Postgraduate courses in Commerce, Hindi, Mathematics and Political Sciences. Admission into the UG programs is now based on the candidate’s performance in CUET UG. For admissions into the PG courses, candidates are required to appear for the CUET PG entrance examination. After appearing and qualifying in entrance exam, the admission process is followed by a centralized counseling process by the university named DU CSAS (UG & PG)

PGDAV has an established placement cell that trains the students for future job opportunities. This placement cell is also responsible for bringing top companies into the college for better internships and job prospectus for the students. The 2023 placement drive conducted by PGDAV College was a great success with many top participating recruiters such as Amazon, HCL, Wirpo, etc. in the on-campus placement drive. The median salary package offered to the UG students was INR 5.34 LPA & the median package for PG courses was INR 5.0 LPA.

Scholarships are also offered to students of PGDAV College. Those who are outstanding in sports or are economically poor are given the opportunity to avail scholarships provided by the college. The fee concession is based on good behavior, regular attendance, and satisfactory results in studies. PGDAV College Admission Process 2024

PGDAV College admission to all the UG & PG courses is based on the merit of CUET examination. Students who want to get admission to the offered courses have to register in the centralized DU CSAS process. The PGDAV College admission process includes appearing for the CUET examination and then appearing in the CSAS seat allotment. Registrations for admission at the college starts generally after the declaration of CUET results. Candidates must select Delhi University while filling out the CUET application can register themselves on the DU CSAS portal and choose PGDAV College + course preferences. The entire selection process is carried out through DU CSAS portal for both UG and PG courses in multiple rounds. The admission process is as follows:

Step 1: Appear for the Entrance Examination

PGDAV College admissions for all courses at affiliated colleges, faculties, and departments are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. The table below lists the entrance exams accepted for various courses at Delhi University:

Step 2: Registration on DU CSAS Portal and Filling of Courses and College Preferences

Candidates who qualify for the entrance examination must register on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Portal of Delhi University for seat allotment. Once the registration is done, candidates will be asked to fill [college + course] preferences.

Step 3: Seat Allocation

The seat allocation will be done in multiple rounds for all programs. Seats are allocated based on scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) or other national-level tests, combination of college and program chosen, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats.

Step 4: Blocking of Seats and Final Admission

Candidates can check the seat allotment result by logging into Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) dashboard. Upon acceptance of seat, the university will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the admission fees.

PGDAV College Scholarships

To help the needy and meritorious students meet their education requirements, PGDAV College, Delhi offers various scholarships.
A Fee Concession is provided to needy students and outstanding sportsmen. The continuance of this concession shall be based on good behavior, regular attendance, and satisfactory progress in studies.
An application for the same can be made on the prescribed form which shall be available from the college office once the notice is put up. Fee concession shall not be given for self-financing courses.

PGDAV College Facilities

To cater to the needs of the students and the faculty, PGDAV College offers a wide variety of facilities:

Library: PGDAV has more than 85,000 books, journals, periodicals and reference materials on diverse fields.
Classrooms: PGDAV has smart classrooms containing ceiling mounted projectors along with roll down screens. It has built a new academic block recently containing 16 big classrooms and 12 small rooms.
Computer Centre: The campus has a well equipped computer lab with access to internet and DU library system available on all working days. The entire campus is wifi enabled and has state of the art computer network.
CCTVs: To ensure discipline and safety throughout the campus, CCTVs have been installed.
Canteen: PGDAV has a canteen which can accommodate up to 200 people at a single time. At a reasonable rate, it offers various snacks, beverages and fresh fruits.
Bank: To provide easy banking facilities to the students and staff, a branch of the Central Bank of India has been placed within the college premises.
