Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira is a constituent college of Calcutta University. The authorities of the Ramakrishna Mission started Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira under Saradapith which is a branch of Ramakrishna Mission.
The college has a higher secondary section which was started in 1978. The institute is a residential college that is known for its academic excellence, achievements and for this the college has been awarded with the status College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) by UGC.
The college has been accredited 'Grade A' by NAAC & approved by UGC. The college is ranked 16th out of 100 colleges in the college category by NIRF, 2023.
Established in 1941, the college now has 14 UG & 5 PG courses to offer. All the courses are offered in Science, Humanities & Social Science Departments. Together with the UG & PG curriculum, the college offers Doctoral & Diploma courses too.

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira Scholarship
The college offers financial assistance to the needy and meritorious students. The scholarship aid is provided every year in the form of stipend. These stipends are coming from the funds, alumnis & benevolent public.
40% of the students of the college can avail this kind of assistance. The stipend value given to an individual student varies from INR 100 to INR 1600 per month. A large amount of money which is more than INR 18 lakhs was distributed last year as scholarships and stipends.

- Hostel: The college has excellent hostel facilities. There are 6 hostels which are Vinay Bhavan, Vidya Bhavan, Shraddha Bhavan, Sree Bhavan, Vivek Bhavan and Shanti Bhavan. The hotels are equipped with all the possible amenities such as generators, purified drinking water, solar water heating apparatus, canteen etc. For UG courses students the hostel fee is INR 1400 and for the PG courses students the fee is INR 800.
