Sri Ram Chandra Bhanja Medical College & Hospital is one of the very first medical institutes in the eastern part of India which educates the students with medical teaching, training, patient care, and research. The SCB Medical College was approved by the Medical Council of India and is affiliated to the Utkal University which is in the city of Bhubaneswar.

Students are offered clinical postings across a variety of wards like medicine, surgery, psychiatry, gynecology, etc. Students are also provided with a stipend during this internship period. The amount of stipend is based on the guidelines of the State Government. After the internship period, students can either continue their service in government as well as in private hospitals or they can also opt for the post-graduation courses.
