About Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University - [TNDALU]

Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNAU) was established in the year 1997 by the government of Tamil Nadu. The law university is recognised by UGC and accredited with a grade B++ by NAAC. TNDALU campus is spread across 4.2 acres in Poompozhil and Perungudi campus.

TNDALU offers 5 years and 3 years LLB (Hons.) and LLM programs in multiple disciplines. Admissions to all programs are solely based on marks secured in the qualifying examination (Merit-based). TNDALU consists of more than 11 departments, 120+ meritorious faculty members. The university has signed MoUs with over 22 national international universities. It is also a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities) and Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi.

TNDALU Admission 2024

Admissions in TNDALU or based on merit only. It offers 15+ worldwide recognised Law courses. The university will publish a rank list and cut off marks for each course on the official website. The flagship course of the university is 5 year integrated UG courses.

An applicant has to fill the application form, then the university will publish the rank and cut-off merit lists on the official website. Proceeding to the online verification of the documents, shortlisted applicants will be called for counselling sessions and joining.

In order to be eligible for TNDALU admissions, candidates must have at least 70% in the qualifying exam. Moreover, an application fee for LL.M of INR 500 for SC/ST candidates and INR 1000 for other candidates must be paid.

TNDALU campus stretches across 4.2 acre land in its Poompozhil and Perungudi campus. The sprawling campus has 11 departments and more than 120 faculty members. TNDALU has 24 government and private affiliate colleges with more than 12,000 students enrolled. Moreover, TNDALU facilitates the students with the following opportunities:

1.Library facility

A group of qualified professional library workers, who also are under the direction of the Library Council, plan and are continuously enhancing the TNDALU library.

The university's library has 18,803 volumes, 963 online journals, 81 Indian journals, 8 foreign journals, 25 CDs and digital books, and 8 Indian magazines in addition to 8 foreign journals.

To make it simpler for readers to access and retrieve library and information resources, the TNDALU library has implemented an open access system.

2.Hostel facility

To ensure women’s safety, TNDALU authorities give hostel facilities to girl students. The allocation of hostels is on a first come first served basis.

3.Prevention of caste-based discrimination

A dedicated committee has been formed to prevent the cases of caste-based discrimination against students. Moreover, students can fill the complaint form to take legal action against the guilty.
