About Kashmir Government Polytechnic - [KGP]

Kashmir Government Polytechnic (KGP) got established with 3 diploma courses in civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. The earlier campus was in Naseem Bagh but the present campus is in Gogjibagh. The college is affiliated to The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of Technical Education (JKSBOTE) and is approved by the All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Presently, the college offers 8 diploma courses and a few short-term courses in various disciplines of engineering. The admission is based on merit in secondary school examination marks and ranking/ cut off in the Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BPEE).

The admission in the diploma course is done through the merit in Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BPEE) i.e., marks in the secondary school examination. Online application needs to be initiated for getting admission here.

Library- The library is the campus that is organized and has a wide collection of books. The library has both kinds of books related to engineering as well as general information. Every function of the library is computerized and the library is well maintained on the Library Information System Software.
Hostels- A well-furnished hostel is available for both girls and boys. The mess is also present in the hostel.
Sports- For the students, a sports complex is also present where the students can keep themselves fit. Along with that, a functional auditorium is also present on the campus for entertainment and infotainment.
Training and Placements cell- The staff development programs work in collaboration with the Technical Teachers Training Institute, Chandigarh to sharpen the expertise of the faculty members even more.
