B. L. D. E. A. Vachana Pitamaha Dr. P. G. Halakatti College of Engineering & Technology, Bijapur was established in 1980 under Bijapur Liberal District Education Association. It is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and approved by Government of Karnataka. It is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.  The vision of the college is to be a trend setting Institution in technical education and research, providing highly competent, efficient manpower to meet the ever-changing needs of the country, industry and the society. The mission of the college is to be an ideal institution providing quality technical education and training to students in tune with the evolving challenges and social needs through a flexible and innovative learning process, enabling the students to excel in their professions and careers with a high degree of integrity and ethical standards.

• Auditorium- The Auditorium is acoustically designed with a seating capacity of 500 persons. Its main features include a high-tech sound system, lavish seating arrangement, vast screen, and the LCD projector.IT Infrastructure- Powerful servers for 100% redundancy and efficient data management with 1 Km OFC backbone for providing seamless connectivity, High end firewall security featured network, Central Computing Lab Facility
• Library- The college has library with 03 reading rooms of 125 seating capacity.The library has a well stock of 86,000 volumes and 30,000 titles. The library is equipped with over 75,000 volumes covering all branches of science and engineering, encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, data books etc. Library is subscribing over 95 print versions of Technical Journals covering both National & International. It has over 1200 e-journal subscription.
