D.R.K College of Commerce was established in 1957 under the supervision of the Council of Education. It is affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur and also under the scrutiny of UGC. The college has also been accredited by NIRF. The institute has also been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade. Audit report by NIRF for the year 2024 is available on their website including information regarding all aspects of college from No. of students to no. of faculties available.
D.R.K college offers namely four courses that are B.com and BBA in Under graduation and a degree in MBA and M.com in Post-Graduation. The college also offers coaching for CA (CPT) and IPCC for the students pursuing a career in Chartered Accountancy.
The mode of application is online and the admission criteria to the Institute is both Merit and Entrance based.
The college has an active placement cell which aids students to appear for internships and placements. Also a lot of companies actively participate in college’s MBA placement fair. Companies like Infosys, south bank Bharti Airtel visit campus for interviews every year.

The college is built on 4450.6 sq. metres of area, this included just the building and institutional area. Institute offers world class facilities ranging from Hostels to Gymkhana, Computer labs, a seminar hall, a well-furnished auditorium, classrooms and library.
HOSTEL: The College provides residency at the campus for boys, with quality hostels provided with top class facilities in them. There is a common study room in the hostel which is updated with Newspapers in English and Marathi medium. Indoor games such as Chess a T.T table are available at the hostel for entertainment purposes.The Boy’s hostel offers three type of room i.e.

- Double Occupancy (20 rooms)
- Triple Occupancy (24 rooms)
Library: Providing students with quality materials for reading and research the college has an extensive library available to students. In addition to that the library accommodates a separate well-furnished reading room for students to partake their academic interests at the library itself. The library has extensive reading materials ranging from books to Journals, Bound volumes, E-books, E-journals, magazines and much more. CDs and Cassettes are also available for further reference. International, national and regional journals are available.
Computer Labs: The college accommodates 3 different computer labs for all purposes with 24*7 power backup , LED projectors and high speed internet connectivity, the labs facilitate students and faculty in academics in every way possible. The college is also an authorized centre for conducting “Government Certificate in Computer-Typing Basic Course (GCC-TBC)” Exam.
Gymkhana: Only focusing extensively on academics in not the right way to develop students holistically. With this in mind the campus provides a Gymkhana facility to all its students for working out and being healthy. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Physical fitness and well-being is as important as academics for a student.

Ans. As one of the oldest colleges in KOLHAPUR and as it specializes in Commerce stream only, it is one of the best colleges with experienced faculty and excellent infrastructure. It has a long history of legacy with it and an outstanding no. of results to boast of, the college is one of the best there is in Kolhapur. With a full time working Placement Cell and world class facilities to aid students and such experienced faculty, no other college comes even close.
