Government College of Engineering - [GCE]

Government College of Engineering, Chandrapur was established in 1996. The Government institute is funded by Government of Maharashtra.

• This is the only Government Institute under R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur and Gondwana University Gadchiroli.
• In this Institute first and second year is affiliated to Gondwana University, Gadchiroli whereas Third and Final year is affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University.

Alumni aim is to expand the association of Alumni for the excellence in the state-of-the-art technologies in engineering through Institute-Alumni Interaction.

Objectives:

• To encourage alumni and prospective graduates to participate in the professional development and self-development programs set up by the alumni committee of GCOEC.
• To strengthen ties between the GCOEC and alumni and encourage them to   participate in the various social, cultural and scientific activities.
• To guide the GCOEC in the process of developing and planning academic programs targeted at alumni.
• To make follow-up studies of employed alumni in order to improve their conditions.
• To serve the community.

• NSS:
  • NSS programme was launched in September, 1969, by the Union Education Minister Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao in 37 universities covering all states in India.
  • Since the inception, the volunteers are devoting their best in the academic calendar. In result the cell has received precious award for Blood donation drive from the District Hospital, Chandrapur in 2013.
  • Students have won prizes in UTKARSH-2013 which was held at Pune. 
• Rotaract Club Chapter: This club was inaugurated by its parent club, the Rotaray club of Tinnevely on 9th September 2008. The club is actively organizing many awareness programmes, Blood donation camps, etc.
• Yoga Club: The yoga club was started in 2008. Its main motto is to guide the students to endure their mental stress and to bring out their inherent talents.
• Red Ribbon Club: The Clubs main motto is to inculcate the social welfare thoughts in the students and to provide service. It conducts blood donation camps and AIDS awareness programmes for the college students among the college students.

• There are total 19637 books are available and 38 National/International journals are available.  

Hostel:

Hostel accommodation is located in residential zone of the college campus for the students and surrounded by greenery. Admissions in the Hostel are made strictly based on merit and reservation rules as per government norms. Admission progress is as per CAP round admission of Engineering admissions.

All necessary facilities such as Common Room, Mess, Gym, Badminton Court, Newspaper, Guest room, RO water purifier, Magazine, 24 hr Security, Sweepers are available to students.
