Government Jamuna Prasad Verma Post Graduate Arts and Commerce College

Originally known as SBR College, the Government Jamuna Prasad Verma Post Graduate Arts and Commerce College was formerly established to offer educational facilities to the socially and financially deprived children of Bilaspur and those in the nearby locations. The College provides the students with the services and opportunities for utilizing library, NCC and NSS, Red Cross movement and sports.The college boasts of a separate building for all the students interested in reading. It has a remarkable collection of books, magazines and other reading materials. As part of NSS, the students undergo ten days training in villages close to Bilaspur. This serves as an out-of-the-classroom teaching session designed to help them broaden their horizon. Through NCC, about 54 students regularly participate in activities such as National Day Parade. Workshops on blood donation, health check-up, aids awareness and de-addiction are conducted. It proudly includes in its faculty a sports office duly appointed by the State Government for enhancing the sporting skills of the students.
