Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University

HNBGU is a central university of Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The university offers UG, PG, UG Diploma, PG Diploma and Research Programmes under several disciplines. HNBGU has 11 schools under various domains.

HNBGU has three campuses, Birla Chauras Campus (BCC), B. Gopal Reddy (BGR) Campus, Pauri and Swami Ram Teerth (SRT) Campus. The university has 121 colleges and institutions under its affiliations spreading over seven districts of Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. 

Established in 1973, with the guidance of the highly qualified, expert faculty members and ability of enthusiastic students the university has bagged Grade 'A' by NAAC and approvals of PCI, UGC and AICTE. 

Interested candidates need to visit the official website of the University for the admission process and apply online. The selection will be done on the basis of both merit & entrance exam. Students must secure valid scores in various national level entrance exams such as CUET, JEE Main. Students must satisfy the required cutoffs to get selected in HNBGU. 

HNBGU offers some basic amenities to the students such as a computer centre, university sports board, guest house, hostel, university dispensary, construction & maintenance and a lot more facilities under its umbrella.

• HNBGU has a SWAYAM Cell, for promoting and implementing online classes so that students can avail all the courses from the e-learning process. From the e-learning process, UG, PG and research non technical subjects can be availed by the students. 
• The university conducts semesters in an even and odd semester process. 
• HNBGU has an Institute Innovation Cell (IIC), which was established with a purpose to encourage the culture of Innovation in all Higher Education Institutions across the country. The preliminary goal of IIC is to inspire, encourage and foster young aspirants' ideas.

HNBGU Admission Process 2024

Some steps are needed to be followed for the admission process: 

• For an online application process students are required to visit the University website
• Application forms can be availed from the official website of the university.
• Detailed instructions for how to fill the application form are also available on the website.
• The application fee needs to be paid through a bank challan.

HNBGU Scholarship

• Merit Scholarship to B.Ed. Students: This scholarship is provided to the six students who have scored the top positions in the entrance examination conducted by the University for admission to a B.Ed program, and are granted a monthly Scholarship of INR 200.
• Merit Scholarship to BPL Students: This Scholarship is given to the students who belong to BPL category and worth INR 1500 per month is granted for ten academically talented students of the University.
• Shri Kalyaneshwar Temple Scholarship: This is for the meritorious and economically backward class students of both UG and PG Courses. 
• Smt. Shanti Devi Shaligram Bhatt Scholarship: This aid is granted for the three students of the University every year. Two of these Scholarships are for the students of UG or PG curriculums and one fellowship is given to the student of Mass Communication who have scored 60% and 50% marks respectively in the previous examination and the annual family income of the applicant's should be INR 60,000 per annum.

HNBGU Facilities

• Central Library: HNBGU has libraries in all three campuses and are well equipped with books and research journals. There are different sections like Acquisition, Text-Book, Circulation, etc. Each library has a strength to hold about 1.30 lakhs books approximately in all the three campuses.
• Computer Centre: The computer centres are set up by the financial aid from UGC in all the three campuses of the university. Students have 24*7 access to the computer facility on the campus.
• Hostels: University provides hostel facilities for boys and girls both . University has proper hostel amenities with 1-Seater, 2-Seater, 3- Seater and 4-Seater rooms provided to students. University also has a Guest House facility for the people coming for research. 
• Sports: University has excellent facilities for sports. It has the infrastructure for outdoor games like Football, Gym, Judo, Badminton, wrestling, etc.
