Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA) was established in 1985 and is situated 18 km away from Raebareli city. It is functioning under the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Govt. of India (GOI) through its Governing Council (GC) and approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation, GOI. It is a premier institute especially created to improve training standards of pilot aspirants. It has highly experienced flying instructors with years of experience in civil/ military flying.

IGRUA Courses with eligibility

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi offers Ab-initio to CPL Course as a three-year B.Sc. program in Aviation. The course is divided into three batches- Ground Training, Simulator Training, and Flying Training.

Eligibility for the course is:

• Age limit - 17 years old
• Intermediate (10+2) graduate with English, Physics, and Maths
• 55% aggregate marks in Physics and Maths

Note: SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates will be provided with 5% relaxation in total aptitude.

• INR 42,00,000 -Tuition fee (need to be paid in four-quarterly in 1-year)
• NR 2,00,000 - Additional fee (Uniform, Head Phones, Navigation tools, Study Material, and more)

CRM Workshop

Exclusive workshops are quarterly organized by the academy. These workshops help to groom the students' personality and expose them with the real-life aviation experience.

• Duration: Two and a half-day
• Fee: INR 10,000
• Aspirants attending the CRM workshop must also attend the Multi Jet Orientation program scheduled post-Crew Resource Management Workshop.

IGRUA Admissions

The admission process of Ab-initio to CPL course in B.Sc.(Aviation) starts in the month of April every year. The admission procedure is based on the Online Written Test, Personal Interview, and Pilot Aptitude Test. The college offers the course to 100 students. Seat in-take as per categories is tabulated below:

Step 1: Visit the official website (www.igrua.gov.in)

Step 2: Click on 'Entrance' tab and select ‘Registration for New Users

Step 3: Enter all the required details in fields provided and Submit

Step 4: You will be issued the required credentials for future login sessions

Step 5: After logging in again, upload the required documents (recent pp-size photograph and a valid signature

Step 6: Make the required payment of INR 10,000. (The fee for SC/ST candidates are exempted)

Modes of Payment: Online (Debit/ Credit card/ Netbanking) or offline (via Challan can be submitted to any nearby branch of SBI).

Note: Post-filling the application form, keep the issued application number, password, payment receipt, and SMS safely for future references.

IGRUA Selection procedure

The admission or the selection procedure is divided into three parts viz.

Part 1: Online Written Test: IGRUA entrance test is conducted in the first week of June. Candidates are allotted the test center as per their preference order mentioned at the time of registration. The exam has - Maths, Physics, Reasoning, General English, and Current affairs of up to class 12th level. Candidates will be shortlisted as per IGRUA Cutoffs, SC/ST/EW/OBC aspirants will be provided with 5% relaxation in the cutoff.

Part 2: Personal Interview: shortlisted candidates have to appear for a face to face interview. The questions are generally related to a candidate's background, interest, and the course. It is mandatory to carry and submit all the documents after the interview concludes.

Part 3: Pilot Aptitude Test: Only successful applicants will be called for the aptitude test. The test analysis and evaluates on mental capabilities and behavioral technique. After the final selection, the qualifiers must pay INR 12,000 to secure their seats.

Note: There is no relaxation for any category in part two and three. Commitment money is non-refundable but flexible against the total fee.

IGRUA Campus and Facilities

The institute has all necessary facilities like well-equipped modern gym, two each indoor squash and badminton courts, along with grounds for cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, and other outdoor games, swimming Pool, Computer Lab, library, canteen, Transportation, Auditorium, Airspace for flying training and Ground Training Facilities.
