The Karnataka State Law University was established in 2009. It is the single largest federal university in the country with 92 affiliated colleges under its umbrella. The University has almost 92 colleges that have some specific selection procedure of entrance and personal test for a few courses. Admission to the 3-year courses, in all colleges under the jurisdiction of Karnataka State Law University, is strictly based on the Merit, Based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination. Candidates can obtain the application forms both online and offline.

- the application fee is INR 1000 for the general category and INR 500 for the SC/ST category students.
- The payment of the application fee can either be done through a demand draft drawn in the favor of the Finance officer of KSLU ( Karnataka State Law University) or through a challan from any SBI branch or by credit/debit card and net banking.

The University has its own international Law Moot Court Competition and also a Kannada Moot Court Competition to provide an excellent opportunity to Law Students to hone their skills. The University's extension arm caters to the legal aid and legal literacy of the society.
The library is to support the academic and research needs of KSLU students, researchers, faculty, and staff. The KSLU Library is committed to providing the quality Library and Information Service to all Users. It has a rich collection of books, e-books, journals, magazines, newspaper subscriptions, bound volumes, dissertations, bare acts, and online databases. Reference Services is an important service offered by the library which helps the users to make full use of the resources available in the library. References Services are offered by the Library Staff during weekdays. to help readers locate and make effective use of resources in various formats. References Service provides reference and research assistance to Students, Researchers, Faculty, and Staff of KSLU.
Sports: To bring back the fading integral importance of sports and to achieve the ultimate goal, KSLU has staidly initiated the sports activities. The University has conducted various selections, intercollegiate and the university teams have participated in different competitions. Through this, they try to support the student in terms of Physical fitness, Mental health, and efficiency, Social-moral character, Emotional Expression and control, Appreciation, Health Physical of organic development.
