About Khallikote Autonomous College
Khallikote Autonomous College is one of the best know colleges in south Orissa. It is situated in Berhampur, Orissa. This premier educational institution was started as a Zila School in the year 1856 with the name of Union College and attained the status of an Intermediate College. The college is the foremost college of the state with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC accreditation on January 2017. This college has produced gems like B. Jagannath Das who is a former judge of the Supreme Court of India, Chief Justice Lingaraj Panigrahi, Justice P. Balakrishna, Ex-Governor, Vice Admiral HL Sharma. The former President of India late Dr. V. V. Giri was one of the alumni of this college.

Khallikote Autonomous College Placement
There is no proper placement cell for many courses. But in some courses, this college offers placements to students of the accounting sector and courses related to it. Many companies came to recruit students in which 40 – 50% of students get placements. The college also holds internship programs for their students. In some sectors, students get placements approximately 2-3 LPA. Khallikote Autonomous College Scholarship
As it is a government college, students get scholarships and all the facilities that are provided by the government. Students belonging to reserved classes like SC/STs get more scholarships. Following are the scholarships offered to the students under various categories:
- e-Madhubruti: The Govt. of Odisha awards INR 5,000 to meritorious students to help them in pursuing their higher studies. This scholarship is given to 1500 boys and 1500 girls. To be eligible for this scholarship, the family income of the students must be less than INR 6 LPA and he/she must have scored more than 60% marks in Intermediate examinations.
- Post-matric Scholarship: The students belonging to SC and ST communities will be given this scholarship. To be eligible for this scholarship, the family income of the student must be less than INR 2.5 LPA. The scholarship includes course fees and other compulsory maintenance allowance.
Khallikote Autonomous College Facilities
Following are the facilities offered by the college to cater to the need of the students as well as faculty members:
- Hostel: The college offers separate hostel facilities for both girls and boys enrolled in various courses. It has five hostels to provide accommodation for the outside students. The intake capacity in boys hostel is 310 while the girls’ hostel has 185. The college does not provide hostel facilities for the local students. Each room s equipped with all the essential needs for the students.
- Classrooms: The college has a total of 50 classrooms equipped with all the modern equipment to cater to the academic needs of the students. It also has a Wi-fi facility for better connectivity.
- Library: The college has a seating capacity of 120 students in the library. It has more than 1,30,006 books, 211 Multimedia Literature, 17,147 journals for the students.
