Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College, Thane (Formerly known as Dnyanasadhana College, Thane) a Premier Education Institute was established in 1980 and is registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1960. However, the Degree College was started on 13^th June 1983. Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai and is recognized by UGC 2(f) & 12B. The institute is reaccredited with a “B+” Grade (CGPA 2.69, 3rd cycle completed) by NAAC & also ISO (21001:2018) certified.

The College offers several courses in the fields of Arts, Science and Commerce on aided basis. Some of the popular courses of the institute are B.A. Multimedia and Mass Communication, B. Sc. Computer Science, B. Sc. Information Technology, B. Com. (Accounting and Finance), B. Com. (Banking and Insurance) and Bachelor of Management Studies (AICTE Approved) on an unaided basis. It also offers post-graduation courses like M.Com in Business Management, M.Com in Advanced Accountancy, M.Com in Banking & Finance, M. Sc. Chemistry - by Paper / by Research, M. Sc. Botany - by Paper, and M. Sc. Information Technology. It also has a research center for Ph.D. in Chemistry and Commerce. The college is also a center for Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University.

Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College has fully qualified teaching staff and an adequate number of non-teaching staff. The building is located off Eastern Express Highway, Dnyanasadhana Marg, Thane (West), which is accessible from Thane railway station by auto rickshaw and city bus. The College complex is spread over a plot of 2.2 acres with built-up space of about 93000 sq.ft. It offers modern amenities needed for the all-round development of the student's personality. • Library-The college has 3 sections in its library i.e. Reference Sections which includes encyclopedias, bibliography, travel guides, annual reports and almanacs, second one is Periodical & Newspaper Section which includes subject’s related periodicals and newspapers for current affairs and the third one is General Reading Section which includes common reading books on general topics.
