Sethu Institute of Technology is an autonomous engineering college, affiliated to Anna University. The institute was established in 1995 and awarded the Autonomous status in 2012 by UGC. Admission to the UG courses are based on TNEA counselling and admission to the PG courses is done on the basis of TANCET scores

The institute has a very active and efficient training and placement cell (TPC), headed by the Vice-Principal of the institute. In addition to conducting recruitment drives, the placement cell also offers services for the all-around development of the students and assists them in landing their desired jobs.

Central Library: The college library has a large collection of books, periodicals, digital audio and video, e-books, and online courses available for the students and faculty. The library offers access to NPTEL, DELNET, British Council Library, and AIRC-American Information Resource Centre.
Hostel & Mess: The college provides hostel and canteen facilities to its students. Separate hostels are available for girls and boys with a capacity of 4 students per room. Hostels have an uninterrupted power supply, water facility, and essential store facility. Additionally, Tv rooms, yoga halls, and gymnasium are also available inside the hostels.
