Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education, Coimbatore, was established bySwami Vivekanand and Sri Ramakrishna, under Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalayato spread superior quality higher education for the teachers. It is the first Education college of India which was awarded with the stature of autonomy. Earlier the college was known as the B.T. College and was affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai. It later changed into College of Education(B.Ed.).
